That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The Buffalo Bills ended their season 9-7. The Jets? 4-12. Is that the move you really want to go in?
Plus, the Buffalo Bills had such a successful season mainly because their defense was outstanding. They finished 4th overall on defense. Interestingly enough, I'm well aware of this as the Bills are the main reason the Packers did not get the first overall seed and now have to go to Seattle for the NFC Championship game.
So, why hire Rex Ryan, who is more defense minded, when you need someone who is more offensive? That's so weird.
Even more mind-boggling? As much as I hate Jim Schwartz, Rex Ryan has decided to let him go. I don't like Jim because he seems like an asshole of a person from his days as the Lions head coach and for having his team carry him off the field when they won against the Lions (pretty classless).
However, from a football standpoint, while Jim Schwartz may not have been good as a head coach, he excelled when he could focus his energies on being a defensive coordinator.
This begs the question. Who would Rex Ryan get to replace Jim Schwartz? Someone better, of course?
Nope. Sexy-Rexy is bringing his defensive coordinator with him from the Jets.
Outstanding.
